How do I start using Emmy?
You need to find out if your doctor is already using Emmy. If so, just create access using the button above. For this you will need your email address and mobile number. Therefore, for Emmy to work properly, you need to use the current version of Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, whether you're using Emmy on your desktop or mobile.

How do I find my doctor's office in Emmy?
You can usually find the office by your doctor's name. It may be that your doctor uses the name of the company he operates to designate his practice. If you are not sure, ask your doctor to give you this information.

What if my doctor doesn't use Emmy?
We will be glad if you notify your doctor about Emmy and give them information. We believe that Emmy will be of great benefit not only to patients but also to doctors.

Is Emmy free for the patient?
Yes, patients do not pay anything for using Emmy. Emmy services are paid by the doctor's office with whom you communicate through Emmy.

How is my data secure in Emmy?
We adhere to a high standard of data security. Emmy runs on the AWS platform, which without exaggeration can be described as the most technically advanced platform of its type in the world, and also holds security certifications ISO 27001, ISO 27017 and ISO 27018. That's why the same AWS services are used by banking, financial and healthcare providers around the world. Full encryption of all data transfers is a matter of course, and we make sure that we comply with all legal obligations in the field of data protection (especially GDPR) from the beginning. Your doctor continues to be the main administrator of your data at Emmy.

What if I lose my password?
To restore your access, you will need the email and phone number that you entered when you first registered.

Who all reads the news sent through the Emmys?
Your reports are processed by the office staff. We cannot guarantee who will read the message. That also depends on how our Emmy's office is set up.

I would like to do something for someone else (my child, grandmother, grandfather, etc.) How should I proceed?
At Emmy, you can represent other patients - e.g. your child or a relative. It is necessary to ask the doctor to add you as a representative for a relative or other patient. Then, at the Emmys, you will have the opportunity to communicate both for yourself and for the person you represent.

If you do not see the option to set up a request such as “I want to add my child to Emma” or “I want to represent a patient at Emmy”, write to the office using a request like “I did not choose from any type of request” and ask for this option.

Please note that in particular in the case of representation between adults, the office may require the signature of the power of attorney of the represented person or a similar written confirmation of his/her will.

If you have accidentally logged in to Emmy under the name and surname of the person represented (most often with your child's data), you can correct your details by clicking on your name in the upper right and then selecting “Change data”.

What if I re-register with another office?
At the moment when you change the doctor and want to continue communicating with him and make an order through Emmy, you just need to choose the new office with which you want to communicate. If the new office does not use Emmy yet, your subscription to Emma remains active and the moment the new office starts using Emmy, you will need to add a doctor's office.

Can Emmy also be used to make an appointment with a specialist?
Emmy can connect you to multiple clinics, so it only depends on whether the clinic uses Emmy's specialist. We will be glad if you also notify your other doctors about Emmy and pass on information to them. Emmy is able to adapt to operating in clinics of different specialties.

What if no one in the office responds?
Even a doctor can get sick like any other person or there may be a technical problem. Each office has its own time rules for responses. If no one responds to your messages from Emmy for several days, try the clinic's website first or contact the office by phone or other means.

What else can Emmy do?
Emmy is really just a tool, she's not a living nurse. It will not help in the office with the application of injections. But it can help doctors and nurses a lot by helping them organize their calendar, find out information from patients for exposure to, for example, dyspepsia. We believe that there are a large number of activities that can be performed by a machine in the office, so that doctors and nurses actually have more time for their patients. We plan to gradually teach Emmy these largely administrative and repetitive activities as well.

What if I don't have or don't use email?
In this case, you will not be able to create a login. But setting up an email today is very simple and surely someone will be happy to help you with this. Just be sure to mark your login information somewhere.

What if I have neither a smartphone, nor a computer, nor the Internet?
Of course, it is possible that even today not everyone uses these technical conveniences. In this case, you will not be able to use Emmy's assistance in contacting the clinic and will have to continue to use the telephone line. When Emmy knows it, someone else with a smartphone will be able to represent you.

What if I use the same email with my husband or wife?
Only one person can log in to the Emmy system under one phone number and one email address due to the security of your personal data. Therefore, each of you needs to log in under a different email account.

What if I prefer to make phone calls?
We fully understand that written communication does not suit everyone. But Emmy helps a lot to ensure that nurses and doctors have enough space and time to devote to patients who are just in the office. Emmy helps you decide which requests your doctor or nurse will deal with you over the phone, via Emmy, or at the doctor's office. By submitting your request through Emmy, you will help the clinic staff better prepare for you and help you better.

I'm not allowed into the office anymore?
Your doctor will not cancel the phone line, only perhaps (also thanks to Emmy's help) it will be less busy and will really only serve for urgent calls from patients. The more requests they make to Emmy's office, the more likely you are to reach out when you really need it.

Who's behind all this?
Emma's virtual nurse was created by a team of six general practitioners from all over the Czech Republic under the leadership of founder Timothy Young, who embarked on the project after ten years of experience running a general practitioner's office in Prague. The system is operated by the Czech limited liability company Emmy.md s.r.o.
