How to properly report distance care after changes in 2022

You read how the reporting of distance care to the insurance company has changed in 2022, how to use the 01305 code correctly and what to pay attention to.Until a couple of years ago, telephone consultations were marginal, now they are the order of the day. But how to properly report distance care to an insurance company? M.D. In a practical webinar, Ondřej Sobotka shared his experience with reporting code 01305.

Changes in Distance Care Reporting

Before covid, telephone consultations were part of the capitation payment. But during the pandemic, distance care has almost replaced office visits and insurance companies introduced the code 01300 for it.

After the pandemic subsided, it was expected to be canceled, but patients became accustomed to remote consultations. That's why some insurance companies from 1 April 2022 allow to exhibit distancing under new code 01305which replaced the older code 01300.

Report the code to the following insurance companies:

  • VZP,
  • VOZp,
  • ČPZP,
  • PRIMARY SCHOOL,
  • ZPM.

From May 1, 2022 also RBP, but the code must be contracted. The Distance Care Code does not offer OZP yet (valid as of Sep 26, 2022).

Content of code 01305

The official definition code 01305 is that it serves: “for the case of an episode of clinical care for a registered patient that is performed from the PL or PLDD office in a distanced manner — the patient is not physically present in the office. “

Distance care is fully in the hands of the doctor -- on the part of the patients is undemanding. So it is up to us whether we offer telephone consultations or if we tell the patient that they need to come to the doctor's office,” stated in a webinar by MUDr. Ondřej Sobotka.

Reporting code 01305

There are a number of conditions that need to be met in order to report a remote care code. “It typically has to be Health Change Consultation. For example, the patient has become ill or, on the contrary, has recovered, and you are terminating his insomnia. Alternatively, it may be a consultation to monitor the patient's condition, for example when he has covid,” explained MUDr. Ondřej Sobotka.

You will only check the code for patients who are registered with you and with whom you have been in contact in the last 24 months. This means that you have reported the codes:

  • 01021 — entrance inspection,
  • 01022 — preventive examination,
  • 01201 — Care for diabetics,
  • 01204 — care for prediabetics,
  • 09532 — examination of a person who has been dispensed with,
  • 02021 — comprehensive examination of PLDD of a child under 6 years,
  • 02022 — preventive examination of PLDD of a child under 6 years,
  • 02031 — comprehensive examination of PLDD of a child over 6 years old,
  • 02032 — preventive examination of PLDD of a child over 6 years old,
  • 02039 — Detection and monitoring of a patient with obesity in the PLDD office.

The important thing is that if the patient went to the doctor's office only because of an illness and you they showed code 01543, for the purposes of applying code 01305, this does not count as a normal contact in the last two years.

Code 01305 is valid for now until 31 December 2022.
