During covid, ordering for a specific date has become the standard in medical offices. At the same time, doctors and nurses have had a lot of work to do. One possible solution is online ordering. He discussed its advantages and disadvantages at the MUDr. Ondřej Sobotka.
A number of doctors are concerned about online ordering. “I book patients by phone. If they could order online themselves, I'm afraid there would be chaos” said one participant at the webinar.
Moreover, online ordering does not always work correctly. “I was originally using an ordering system that was part of my outpatient software. After a while, I had to turn it off. It failed, patients were unable to order properly in it,” mentioned MUDr. Sobotka's own experience.
Another typical concern is that patients will block appointments and the office will no longer have time left for prevention.
Although some online ordering can be problematic, staying on the phone is not the solution. “It's too time consuming. In my experience, it is the identification of the patient, the search for a suitable term, and then also the change of dates that delays the most,” stated MUDr. Sobotka.
