This week Emmy Medical entered into an investment deal with startup studio TopMonks and a group of doctoring practices.

Emmy's virtual sister gets first investment

Since the end of last year, Emmy Medical has deployed its virtual nurse to more than 100 clinics across the Czech Republic, which together serve more than 300,000 patients. In the last three months, the number of Emmys has tripled, and so far Emmy has helped the surgeries handle more than 80,000 patient requests.

Co-founder of Emmy Medical, MUDr. Ondřej Sobotka, commented:

“I am very pleased with the investment made by TopMonks and our colleagues. They will help us accelerate the development of Emma and bring new and better services to surgeries and their patients. The COVID-19 crisis time has shown that changes in established procedures are possible and can be beneficial for both medical staff and patients. Emmy mainly helps to deal with patient requests other than through overloaded phone lines. At a time when everything else can be addressed online, we still see a lot of room for improvement. Until now, only large clinics and groups could afford to invest in modern online communication with patients. But Emma's virtual nurse is available to absolutely everyone, even the smallest surgeries. “

As part of the investment, the company was renamed and Emmy.md s.r.o. now bears the new name Emmy Medical s.r.o.
