Many doctors use only a fraction of the features in outpatient software. Simply because they do not know about them or did not have time to set it up. Therefore, MUDr. Ondřej Sobotka, a long-time user of SmartMedix, prepared a webinar. He shared in it tips and tricks that make his daily work easier.

How well you will work is determined by such a “trifle” as monitor resolution. M.D. Sobotka clearly demonstrated the difference when you have SmartMedix open to:

• screen of an older laptop,
• Full HD monitor
• or a 4K monitor.

The main difference is that how much information will fit on the screen. While on an older laptop you can barely see two paragraphs from the decourse, with full HD you see significantly more. “I personally use a 4K monitor. I see a maximum of information and don't have to scroll anywhere,” described MUDr. Sobotka.

Setting the right bar

In the right bar in SmartMedix you can see everything important about the patient. “By setting this bar, I recommend starting. You can choose what information is important to you and want to see it at a glance.“

M.D. For example, the following information is displayed in the bar for Sobotka:

• patient identification data,
• smoker/non-smoker,
• allergy,
• health risks,
• vaccination,
• permanent medication.

‍Setting the top bar

In the same way, you can adjust the top bar and “pull” on it Frequently used functions. M.D. Sobotka has functions such as Print, Scanner or Emmy in this bar. When he is in SmartMedix and wants to order a patient, he needs to quickly see if the patient is booked, simply click on the Emmy function. This gets into the Emmy software that it uses for Automation of routine communication between the office and the patients.

“In the bar I also have an icon for Daily Summary. Every day I go through so easily what we did that day. I also took out a direct entry into outpatient papers there,” the presenter said.

He also showed how he used module Anamnesis and to what extent it structures patient data in it.

Use of phrases

He then focused on the Phrase feature. “I notice a lot of colleagues don't use them much. That's why I'm so crazy about phrases. I find it practical to use texts that are already prepared. It's not just text, I've got it on linked and codes. When I use a specific phrase, it not only saves me a lot of time, but at the same time it reports the codes to the insurance company,” said MUDr. Sobotka.

‍What else can you learn from the webinar

M.D. Sobotka discussed a number of other topics, such as:

• concatenated codes,
• creation of attachments in PDF,
• linkage of the examination and the code,
• requisition templates
• and stamp printing.

He also mentioned features that, according to him, are not very useful and not worth dwelling on.
