Key helper in triage

Dr. Nedelková was one of the first female doctors in Slovakia to try Emma's virtual nurse. At a conference of general practitioners in the Tatra Mountains, Ondřej Sobotka had a great opportunity to meet her personally and ask her a few questions about her experience with this new assistant.

What made you want to try the Emmys?

It led us to a situation that began, although it was unbearable in the outpatient setting, because we had an enormous amount of work, both with regard to sick patients, preventatives and the like, and then we began to accumulate an enormous amount of benefits from telemedicine. This means that the patients were talking to two phones, which at the time we were calling, emailing and texting on WhatsApp, Messenger, and we simply did not manage to triedite or track it. It happened to us that some actors lost something that we were very sorry for, of course, so we were looking for a way to improve it and we found some material about Emma and we reached out to you.

Was it difficult to start with a virtual nurse?

I don't think so. We were a little worried about seniors and senior adults that they might not make it, but the team that we gave them this opportunity, that I could be represented by children, children and the like, we were very surprised, but if I'm not mistaken, we did not get it right. half a quarter of a pop. And by morning we had about 48 hours left, so it was clear that Emma had picked up and started working.

So phone calls don't bother you anymore?

Absolutely. That's probably what makes us feel the most. We did not even catch the phone in our ambulance in the first place, but not once. We have a referrer there, so if it is not very important, we react to the needs of the referrer, but the reason for this is that the growth of the problems has already begun after Emma and it is a huge advantage that there is a triage that will have time to beat the sister and she herself has already joined.

Didn't the nurse have a problem with what the doctor was making up about her again?

No, she did not protest, because she was afraid of the phone calls, because it was his job. She has broken this line of demarcation, she has broken the triage of telephone calls and the needs of the patients, and equally she has to come to me with every phone and ask me how to figure out what we are doing, whether it will be the best thing and she will see that she already has the competence, The torú can be removed by herself without even addressing me.

How long did it take you guys to get used to the Emmys in the office?

I guess I'm anxious. It really went beyond the good looks, and she was extremely satisfied, I think she would definitely not have missed it.

Does this mean that now you only have a phone in the office and Emma next to it, so you no longer chase emails, WhatsApp, Messenger...?

Absolutely. We still have a mail address, which belongs to the ambulance and we still need to go there, but even though we have a recorded automatic response there, which also guides the patient to enroll in Emma and reach us from there, I think that the great public respects this, Of course, we may be a little too busy, but let's just ask you to reply to your emails. When she writes there, she gets the answer that she should be admitted to the Emmy. And when he is in the best position, he is equipped for his satisfaction, and that is what matters.

Would you like to say something to your colleagues who are still struggling with phone calls?

Specify. Who has a problem with triage of patients, who has a problem with being overwhelmed by the amount of telephone calls and the amount of emails from patients, I think this is the path that will definitely make this situation easier.

Is there anything you miss about the Emmys that would make your job even easier?

I think we're going to catch the so-called fly team, we're going to use it more and more. We certainly do not control all the functionality, because it is not worth the couple of weeks. We announce with the team, we identify, we discover new things and we write down. We also have worksheets where we write down what we would like to be able to establish, insert, or change something. So I think that if this kind of cooperation works, we will improve and innovate the program together.
